From brand new blocks in Ripley and Springfield Lakes to established gardens across older Ipswich suburbs, we design and build landscapes that are made for the way you actually live.
Ipswich is one of the fastest-growing regions in Queensland, and that means two very different kinds of landscaping jobs: brand new blocks in growth corridors like Springfield Lakes, Ripley and Redbank Plains that need a garden built from bare dirt up, and established homes across Goodna, Brassall, Booval and the older suburbs that need a refresh, a repair or ongoing upkeep. We handle both, with designs planned around your actual block rather than a one-size-fits-all template.
Custom designs planned around your block, your budget and how you’ll actually use the space.
Earthworks, drainage, planting and lighting, managed start to finish.
Turning a bare handover block into a finished, functional yard.
Concrete sleeper, block and timber walls built with proper drainage for sloping blocks.
Timber and composite decks, ground-level or raised, with approvals sorted at the quote.
Supplied and installed on a proper base, for shady spots, pets and low-maintenance yards.
Driveways, paths, patios and pool surrounds in concrete, natural stone or permeable pavers.
Paved outdoor areas and timber pergolas for shade, dining and entertaining.
Turf supplied and laid on prepared soil so it roots properly from day one.
Timber, Colorbond and composite fencing to complement your landscape.
A newly handed-over block in a growth corridor suburb often comes with compacted builder’s fill, poor drainage and zero topsoil. That’s not something a weekend DIY job easily fixes. A professional landscaper knows how to properly prepare the ground before anything is planted, so your new garden actually establishes and survives rather than dying off within the first year. For established Ipswich properties, local knowledge means knowing which plants and turf varieties cope with the area’s clay-heavy soil and hot, humid summers, and how to fix drainage problems that have built up over years rather than just patching over them.
That’s the difference between landscape contractors who build for the long term and a quick tidy-up: the work underneath is what lasts.
Good landscaping starts with a plan. Before any digging, we walk the block with you and work out the layout: where the lawn, garden beds, paths and paving go, what needs retaining, where the water will drain, and which plants suit the sun, shade and clay on your block. On a new build, a landscape design lets you stage the work over a year or two without redoing anything. On an established yard, it’s how a tired garden gets a layout that actually works for the way you live.
A lot of Ipswich sits on heavy clay. Clay holds water after storms, sets hard in dry spells, and moves as it wets and dries, which is hard on paving, edging and anything built without proper drainage. Most landscaping problems we see in Ipswich trace back to water: lawns that stay boggy, garden beds that drown, paving that sinks and retaining walls that lean. We sort out levels and drainage first, then build the garden on top.
We supply and lay turf across Ipswich, on new-build blocks and established yards. The turf itself is the easy part. What makes it take is the soil underneath: on most Ipswich blocks that means breaking up compacted clay or builder’s fill, getting the levels right so water runs away from the house, and laying turf on a proper underlay soil. We’ll suggest a variety that suits your sun, shade and how much traffic the lawn gets. For spots where real grass won’t grow, like heavy shade or narrow side paths, artificial grass is often the better answer.
In Queensland, building work over $3,300 (labour and materials) must be done by a QBCC-licensed contractor, and that includes most landscaping jobs with retaining walls, paving or structures. Retaining walls over 1 metre high, or walls supporting a driveway, pool or building, also need building approval and engineering. We’ll tell you at the quote if your job needs either. See our retaining walls page for more.

Common questions from Ipswich homeowners
We start by properly preparing the site. That means dealing with any compacted builder’s fill, checking and correcting drainage, and adding real topsoil before anything goes in the ground. Skipping this step is the most common reason new-build gardens fail within the first year. Once the ground is right, we work with you on a design and staged plan, whether you want the whole yard done at once or staged over a few visits as budget allows.
It depends on the scope. A lawn installation or small garden refresh is often a day or two. A full landscape with paving, retaining walls and planting takes longer, and weather and site preparation on new-build blocks can add time. You’ll get a realistic timeline with your quote.
Both. We do a lot of new-build landscaping across Ipswich’s growth corridor suburbs, but we equally work on established gardens across older parts of Ipswich: refreshing tired landscaping, fixing drainage issues and adding retaining walls.
We cover Ipswich and the wider region, including Springfield Lakes, Ripley, Redbank Plains, Goodna, Yamanto, Collingwood Park, Brassall, Bundamba, Booval and Raceview. If you’re just outside these areas, give us a call.
